How to download a QR code
Download your QR code from QRhubly as PNG, SVG, JPEG, or WebP — and which format to use for print vs screens.
How to download a QR code
Once your code looks right, download it in the format that fits where it'll be used.
Steps
- Finish designing your code.
- Click Download.
- Choose a format: PNG, SVG, JPEG, or WebP.
- The file saves to your device, ready to place, print, or share.
Which format should I use?
| Format | Best for | Notes | |---|---|---| | SVG | Large-format print: posters, packaging, signage, vehicle wraps | Vector — infinitely scalable, never pixelates. The safest choice for anything printed big. | | PNG | Screens, slides, documents, most everyday print | Lossless raster with sharp edges and transparency support. The all-rounder. | | WebP | Web pages where file size matters | Smaller files than PNG at similar quality; great for websites. | | JPEG | When a tool only accepts JPEG | Avoid if possible — JPEG compression can soften the dot edges, which can hurt scanning at small sizes. |
Short answer: use SVG for print and PNG for screens. Reach for WebP on the web, and only use JPEG if something forces it.
Print tips
- Print as large as the space allows — bigger codes scan from farther away and tolerate more wear.
- Keep the quiet-zone margin (don't crop right to the edge of the dots).
- On glossy or curved surfaces, test a printed proof before a full run.
- For tiny placements (business cards, labels), use SVG and keep the design simple and high-contrast.
Transparent background
If you enabled a transparent background, download as PNG or SVG to preserve transparency (JPEG can't store transparency).
FAQ
What's the minimum print size? There's no hard rule, but ~2 × 2 cm (0.8 in) is a sensible floor for close-range scanning; go larger for posters or anything scanned from a distance.
The downloaded code looks blurry — why? You probably scaled up a small PNG/JPEG. Re-download as SVG and scale that instead — vectors never blur.
Can I download in bulk? QRhubly focuses on per-code design and download; for many codes, create and download them individually from your dashboard.
